As a major contributor to the Brexit research undertaken by Canterbury Christ Church University (CCCU), the results from both our Brexit surveys have fed into their recent reports on “Making a Success of Brexit in Kent and Medway”.

The first was launched in December 2016 at a reception in Westminster, hosted by Helen Whately (MP for Faversham and Mid Kent). This is being followed (by mid July) by a second, more detailed report, focusing on the impact of Brexit on SME’s in Kent and Medway, in parallel with a further report looking at rural economy in the region.

We interviewed Dr Amelia Hadfield, Director Centre for European Studies at the university (CEFEUS), who has drafted these reports in conjunction with Dr Mark Hammond, to establish her views on what the centre’s role should be in connecting with Kent businesses and to look at some of the initial findings of the SME report and how they will be used.
