As the situation around Coronavirus continues to develop, the Government has announced a number of measures to support businesses and individuals to mitigate its impact.

On 4th April 2020 the Government published updated and expanded guidance on furlough leave under the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS). We look at the key changes and clarifications introduced, and some of the remaining areas of uncertainty.

On Friday 20th March the Chancellor announced a new Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme which is intended to support businesses through the coronavirus crisis by underwriting the employment costs for the employees they would otherwise need to make redundant or to lay off temporarily without pay.
