Cripps Pemberton Greenish advises Bickley Insurance on its acquisition by JMG Group
Cripps Pemberton Greenish’s insurance team has advised Bickley Insurance on its recent acquisition by JMG Group, the parent company of Yorkshire-headquartered insurance broker JM Glendinning.
Based in Surrey, Bickley Insurance is a commercial and personal insurance specialist employing eight staff.
JM Glendinning is one of the UK’s Top 75 insurance brokers with eight offices across Yorkshire, the North East, The North West and the Midlands and the acquisition of Bickley Insurance represents its first in the South.
Following its acquisition, Bickley Insurance will continue to operate from the same premises, with the same staff and with Managing Director, Jeff Bickley, at the helm. “The only difference”, Jeff commented “will be in the services we can provide and the buying power we will tap into, which will be enhanced by being part of something much bigger.”
For JMG Group, the acquisition will bring “a great platform for future growth in the South as we look to invest in more independently owned insurance brokers who are considering their options for the future.” CEO Nick Houghton commented.
The Cripps team, which included Lowri Jones, James Beatton and Jade Hallam, advised on all the legal aspects of the transaction. Geert Struyven and Lewis Clarke at Crowe provided corporate finance advice.
Commenting on the legal support provided by the Cripps team, Managing Director Jeff Bickley said: “I can’t speak more highly about the M&A team at Cripps Pemberton Greenish. Right from the get go I found them totally professional, yet approachable. They were super-efficient, knowledgeable and structured in their approach. I would not hesitate to recommend them to other insurance brokers who may be considering selling.”
