Cripps Pemberton Greenish’s corporate team has advised private equity firm Mobeus on its £4m investment into Connect Childcare, the UK’s leading nursery management software.

Connect Childcare provides a single, comprehensive, end-to-end system for nursery administration. It is used by 14 of the top 25 UK nursery chains, nurseries and pre-schools to manage nursery activities, including logging observations of children (meals and naps), invoice and payment management and parent communication.

The investment provided by Mobeus will support the launch of a new payment offering and a Software as a Service (SaaS) solution, which will allow Connect Childcare to be installed remotely and integrate more easily with third party applications. To support the high quality management team, Mobeus has introduced Bill McCall as Chairman and Investment Manager Rowan Grobler will also be joining the Board.

Salim Somjee and Helen Garner, both Partners at Cripps Pemberton Greenish, advised on all of the legal aspects of the deal, assisted by Associate, Angela Alvey.

Commenting on the investment and the support provided by Cripps, Rowan Grobler said “This is a fantastic time to be investing in Connect. The business has a well-established, market leading position and is now seeking to capitalise on that by commercialising and rolling out new generation solutions to its committed client base and beyond. The professional service provided by Helen and Salim was superb and went beyond our expectations as an investor. Their ability to strike a perfect balance between providing transaction support and legal advice was critical to completing a complex deal with multiple co-investors.”
