Cripps Pemberton Greenish advises on sale of aggregates and concrete supplier J. Clubb
Cripps Pemberton Greenish has advised its long-standing client, the J. Clubb group of companies and its shareholders, on the sale of the group to Agar Dry Mortar Holdings Limited, part of the Remix Dry Mortar group.
Headquartered in Dartford, Kent, J. Clubb is a family run business, with a rich history dating back over 90 years. The group is a leading supplier of concrete, aggregates and other construction materials to customers across the South East.
The Cripps team that worked on the transaction was led by John Kirkwood and included Victoria Symons, Angela Alvey and Rosie Harvey (all corporate), Ed Auger (real estate), Elliot Fry (commercial) and Ed Dickinson (employment). The team also advised J. Clubb Limited on its restructuring of the group prior to its sale.
Commenting on the service provided by the Cripps team, Simon Clubb, managing director at J. Clubb Limited said “We have been delighted with service and advice provided by John, Ed, Angela and the rest of the Cripps team throughout the sale process. This was a very complex transaction which involved a significant pre-sale restructuring and a substantial property element retained by my shareholders.
We very much appreciated having experienced lawyers to guide us through the intricacies of the restructuring and sale processes, and who were always available and worked around the clock to make sure that we completed within our desired timeframes. Having worked with Cripps for a long time, they really understood our business, and importantly are good people to deal with. My shareholders and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Cripps to other business owners looking to sell.”
