Cripps Pemberton Greenish awarded for apprenticeship programme
Top 100 law firm Cripps Pemberton Greenish has been named apprentice employer of the year by leading university, BPP, at its annual awards.
The BPP Apprentice of the Year awards recognise talent across a range of industry sectors including law, tax and accountancy, banking, and nursing. Its purpose is to highlight apprentices and employers across the UK that have ‘gone the extra mile throughout an apprenticeship’.
The award recognises the firm’s paralegal apprenticeship scheme which launched in partnership with BPP Law School in 2018. As part of the scheme, four apprentices were recruited to work with the firm’s paralegal team across a broad variety of legal areas, alongside completing the BPP Paralegal Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship qualification.
Gavin Tyler, managing partner, said: “As one of the first businesses in Kent to launch a scheme of this kind, we are incredibly proud to win this award. We launched our apprenticeship scheme last year as a pilot and so far it has been a huge success. So much so, that we have made the decision to take on a new intake who will be joining us in September.
Apprenticeship offer a credible alternative to university and are key in ensuring that talented young people, who have perhaps decided against the traditional university route, have options for further education.
We would like to thank BPP for working with us on this scheme, and we look forward to continuing to work with them as our apprentices develop their legal skills”.
Over 850 employers were invited to take part in the awards, with categories including Apprentice of the Year, Employer of the Year, Apprentice Champion of the Year and Inclusion and Diversity Champion.
