The expertise of its lawyers has seen Cripps take a top award in the regional corporate finance event of the year.

At a gala dinner announcing the South East Dealmakers Awards 2015 on Thursday, 5 February, the Kent-based business was named Corporate Law Firm of the Year. A second accolade went to partner Phil Cunningham, who was a finalist in the Corporate Lawyer of the Year category.

Nigel Stanford, Cripps’ Head of Corporate, said: “Being recognised as the leading corporate law firm in the south east is a great achievement and a further independent endorsement of the expertise and skills we offer our clients.

“This latest award follows our No 1 place in the recent Kent legal review and rankings for Cripps in the 2015 edition of Chambers UK, where we are top band in 14 different practice areas across corporate, real estate and private client law.”

The South East Dealmakers Awards are organised by Insider Media and seen as some of the most sought-after accolades for the region’s corporate finance advisory community.

Speaking at the gala dinner, which was held at the Copthorne Hotel, Crawley, regional business editor Philip Cunliffe praised the winners and shortlisted businesses for “the hard work, dedication and – no doubt – long nights that you have all put in” to be nominated by their peers.

He said: “The South East Dealmakers Awards provides us all with an opportunity to recognise and reward the people doing all this hard work – those whose professionalism, skill and sheer tenacity has got deals through to completion.”
