Damian Greenish, consultant and the co-author of the leading text book in this area, Hague on Leasehold Enfranchisement, will be published in the Landlord & Tenant Review in early 2020 covering the recent Court of Appeal decision Aldford House Freehold Ltd v Grosvenor (Mayfair) Estate and K Group Inc [2019] EWCA Civ 1848.  In his article Damian discusses the permutations that flow from the court’s construction of the meaning of “a flat” under the Leasehold Reform, Housing and Urban Development Act 1993 and the ambiguities that can arise in the context of this beguilingly simple definition.

A leading authority on leasehold reform, Damian advises both landlords and tenants on all aspects of leasehold enfranchisement. He has been involved in many of the landmark reform cases at the Supreme Court, House of Lords, Court of Appeal, High Court and the valuation tribunals.  For more information contact Damian Greenish on damian.greenish@crippspg.co.uk or +44 (0)20 7591 3350.
