Cripps Pemberton Greenish staff mid-cycleStaff from law firm Cripps are preparing for a summer of sport as they work towards their latest fundraising challenge – Get Cripps to Rio.

Between Friday 22 July and Sunday 21 August, staff will be walking, running and cycling 5,767 miles – the distance from Tunbridge Wells to Rio de Janeiro.

A number of sporting activities have been planned with Tour de Cripps returning for a second consecutive year. Fourteen staff members will be cycling the Tour de Cripps  – a 55 mile route taking them between Cripps’ offices in London, Kings Hill and Tunbridge Wells.

Other events organised include bike relays, rowing competitions and the Tunbridge Wells circular walk.

The event is being supported by Tunbridge Wells cycling café The Velo House and its owner and general manager Olly Stevens said: “We are delighted to be supporting Cripps  on its ‘journey to Rio’.  It was great fun watching last year’s Tour de Cripps and the team spirit as they rode between offices was tremendous.

“This year they are being even more ambitious and we are looking forward to seeing the firm come together to travel half way round the world – so to speak.”

Funds raised will be going to the Alzheimer’s Society, Cripps’ charity of the year for 2016. The Alzheimer’s Society is the UK’s leading dementia support and research charity, providing almost 3,000 community-based services across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.

Solicitor Hannah Proctor, one of the organisers of Get Cripps to Rio explains: “After raising over £4,000 last year with the Tour de Cripps  we decided to go one step – or rather thousands of steps – further. The firm loves a challenge and we have a wide range of people taking part in all of the events from across the firm.

“We really appreciate the support being given to us by The Velo House and are looking forward to seeing how much we can raise this year!”
