How to handle mental health issues at work

Mental health problems affect one in four British workers and are the leading cause of sickness absence.


In the UK mental health issues cost employers £30billion a year through lost production, recruitment and absence but it is a difficult subject to talk about and deal with.


To advise businesses on how to handle the issue, the employment team from law firm Cripps Pemberton Greenish has joined forces with West Kent Mind to present two seminars on the subject, one in Tunbridge Wells and one at Kings Hill.


The seminars will cover:

  • How to identify mental health issues in the workplace
  • What employers can do to assist employees with mental health issues
  • How to deal with employees who are off sick with mental health issues
  • The implications of the Equality Act 2010, including the need to make reasonable adjustments


They will take place at Cripps Pemberton Greenish’s office in Tunbridge Wells on Thursday 15 October from 8.30 to 10.30 and at its Kings Hill office on Wednesday 4 November from 16.00 to 18.00.
