MetOcean Telematics is based in Nova Scotia, Canada, and develops and manufactures state-of-the-art data acquisition and end-to-end telematics solutions. Its recently established UK affiliate, MetOcean Telematics (U.K.) Limited, which acquired the TTL business, will be an R&D centre of excellence and will support other MetOcean Telematics activities in Europe, the Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Domo Tactical Communications (DTC) is a leading global supplier of advanced tagging, tracking, and locating solutions that support law enforcement, military, intelligence agency, and counter-terrorism missions. These solutions enable end-users to locate critical assets in the most challenging environments.

Jonathan Zinck, Vice President, Finance and Administration of MetOcean Telematics commented “When MetOcean first started investigating this acquisition, we knew that we would need the assistance of a solid legal team in the United Kingdom. Unequivocally, I can say that the team at Cripps provided extremely high-quality service throughout this transaction.  Their legal team took the time to understand the scope of services required, and were able to identify the appropriate areas upon which to provide focus and counsel.  Cripps made sure that we had access to legal professionals in a variety of disciplines to deal with corporate, property, employment and taxation matters related to this acquisition.  I was personally very impressed with the professionalism of every member of the Cripps legal team that helped with this acquisition, and look forward to future dealings with the firm.”

Cripps worked closely with MetOcean Telematics to ensure this multijurisdictional acquisition was completed successfully and within a tight timescale. The team led by partner Nigel Stanford and assisted by John Kirkwood and Clare Rooney, advised on all UK corporate and banking aspects of the transaction. They were assisted by Rachel Gerber (property), Phil Bilney (commercial) and Camilla Beamish (employment).
