MTR Group joins Exertis UK to help fuel expansion
MTR Group, one of the country’s fastest growing companies focused on extending the lifecycle of mobiles, wearables and tablet devices, has been sold, with the help of South East law firm Cripps Pemberton Greenish.
The company has been bought by Exertis UK, which is one of Europe’s largest and fastest growing technology distribution and specialist service providers.
Based in Essex, MTR offers a complete repair and refurbishment process through to the environmentally friendly disposal of mobile devices. Working with manufacturers, insurance companies, mobile networks and retailers, both in the UK and abroad, MTR’s 2nd Lifecycle Solutions extend the life of used mobiles and tablets, maximising the recovery of unwanted devices.
The sale, which was led by Cripps Pemberton Greenish partner Nigel Stanford and assisted by Helen Garner, Elliot Fry, Rhona Darbyshire, Helen Welsh and Aleks Wulff, involved a multidisciplinary team including corporate, commercial, real estate and employment experts. Cripps Pemberton Greenish advised the sellers on both the sale of their shares in MTR Group and on their future employment arrangements.
Nigel commented: “MTR is a fantastic company and, having advised them previously on their commercial contracts, it was great to work with them again. This was a complex transaction with a tight timescale for delivery. It required expertise from a number of different specialisms within the firm and Cripps Pemberton Greenish was able to offer this multidisciplinary support to deliver the deal on time.”
The specialist advertising, media and technology sector team at Cripps Pemberton Greenish has years of experience of IT law and works with a range of technology businesses across the UK. Supporting developers, suppliers and customers, they have the knowledge to help guide clients through the legal and contractual challenges facing this ever growing and dynamically changing sector.
Steven Healy, founder and director of MTR, said: “I am confident that by becoming a part of the Exertis group, we will be able to achieve rapid growth and build on and improve the overall level of our customer service delivery. This is major step forward for our business and Cripps Pemberton Greenish has supported us every inch of the way. Their clear and strategic advice, combined with their expertise in the sector, helped us complete the sale on time and realise our overall objectives.”
