Our experience working in hospitality & leisure
Development and refurbishment
The construction of The Curtain, a multi-million pound central London five-star luxury hotel and members’ club. Our work involved acting for the developer and hotel operator in negotiating all demolition and construction related contracts and dealing with a wide range of development issues.
Acting on the acquisition of the Grade 1 listed Gravetye Manor Country House Hotel which was bought out of administration within a few working days. We have been retained on an on-going basis to advise on substantial works involving the development of a new restaurant wing due to open in 2018.
Acting for The Conduit Club (Conduit Street, London) on all corporate matters in relation to the opening this year of its first private members club, including on its raising of equity and debt finance. We also advise on its commercial arrangements with other stakeholders, IP related matters and provide employment support.
Negotiating management agreements, licence and royalty agreements, technical services agreements and non disturbance agreements for an international chain of hotel operators and dealing with day to day asset management issues on an ongoing basis.
Advising hotel owner on facility agreement and security packages for construction and development finance on £80m project for new hotel in Paris.
Advising on contentious dissolution of chain of family owned hotels involving mediation and ultimately a blind bid to divide the hotels and related intellectual property between various family members in settlement of dispute.
Advising on the temporary closure of a well known London hotel for refurbishment and the collective redundancy procedure. We guided their team through the process providing daily support.
