A successful Tunbridge Wells telecoms company is continuing to expand its customer base thanks to a new acquisition.

AdEPT, which specialises in the provision of a range of communications products including lines, calls, data, mobile and broadband services, has purchased Bluecherry Telecom Limited in a transaction with all legal services provided by Kent’s largest law firm, Cripps LLP.

John Swaite, finance director at AdEPT, said: “The acquisition of Bluecherry is another positive step in our continued growth, helping to follow our strategy of consolidation within the fixed line telecommunications sector and emphasise our position as a thriving UK telecoms company.

“We are grateful to Cripps for their continued efforts to ensure our business transactions go through smoothly as we expand the company.”

This is the third deal Cripps has advised AdEPT on in less than two years.

Nigel Stanford, who led the team of solicitors, explained: “We advised AdEPT on all aspects of the deal, including structuring, due diligence, drafting and negotiating purchase documentation, as well as a number of other legal obligations and compliance.”

The deal was unusual in that it involved the targeting of a particular selection of business customers, enabling the chosen Bluecherry list of UK-based fixed-line clients to perfectly complement AdEPT’s portfolio.

Nigel added: “It is highly satisfying to play our part in helping AdEPT secure the acquisitions they require to grow their business and cement their position in the telecoms world.”

The management of Milton Keynes-based Bluecherry’s contracts is now being transferred to AdEPT’s Tunbridge Wells office.
