With Halloween over, Christmas around the corner and the sun firmly off in hibernation for the year, many of us are hitting the shopping centres for a bit of autumnal retail therapy. While there you may have noticed a distinct rise in the number of pop-ups “popping up”, from the familiar calendar stands and phone accessory retailers to various more obscure offerings, and even BOXPARK, an entire mall dedicated to pop-up shops in Shoreditch.

This is no coincidence, and one of our resident commercial property lawyers Emily Wright has recently given us a closer insight into what’s behind this new presence in retail. Emily advises on a wide variety of general commercial property work and specialises in leasehold transactions, with a focus on retail, for both landlords and tenants.
