NQ Life – Agata Marosz
This week, the team behind Cripps Pemberton Greenish’s trainee solicitor blog caught up with Agata Marosz, to discuss how she is finding life as an NQ in the (very) busy real estate team at Cripps Pemberton Greenish.
Describe your role and area of expertise.
As a solicitor in the real estate team (investment), I deal with various commercial property transactions ranging from commercial leasing to property acquisitions and disposals. I act for listed property companies, government occupiers, housing associations and private individuals. I also act for companies investing in the retail sector across the UK and Europe where my work mainly involves property management and landlord/tenant transactions.
What do you find most interesting about your work?
The exposure to different type of clients and the variety of work. I have learnt that no two days are ever the same. Therefore, at times, it has been necessary, to reorganise my day to meet the demands of clients or supervisors. Work can be stressful at times, but I enjoy pushing deals over the line.
What inspired you to pursue a career in law?
My grandmother. Unfortunately I didn’t meet her but she was a legal professional and intrigued and inspired by my mother’s stories about my grandmother, I started thinking about law in secondary school. My interest in commercial property stemmed from being involved from an early age in my parents’ business so I am very lucky to have qualified in the area of law close to my heart.
How has your life changed since qualification and how did you find the transition from trainee to NQ?
Yes, the job is challenging and demanding due to additional responsibilities.
What is your favorite thing about working for Cripps Pemberton Greenish?
The people! They are very friendly and supportive.
